Is this a diagnosis?
Your saliva is processed at an accredited laboratory.
You will receive an email when your results are ready. Log in at spryoralinsight.com to see which of the 16 targeted microorganisms were detected and their reported levels, presented in easy-to-understand language.
Results provide an educational snapshot from the time your sample was collected. Review them with your dental professional, make an appropriate oral-care plan, and consider repeat testing to compare results over time.
Oral Insight is an educational oral-wellness test, not a diagnostic test. Results do not determine whether you have cavities, periodontal disease, an oral infection, or any systemic health condition. Consult your dental professional for examination, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations.
Porphyromonas gingivalis, Tannerella forsythia, and Treponema denticola are commonly known as the red-complex bacteria. Research has strongly associated these organisms with periodontitis and more advanced signs of gum disease targeted. Their detection in saliva does not diagnose periodontal disease or determine its severity.
Other organisms included in the panel have been associated with biofilm development and microbial patterns observed in periodontal disease. Their presence alone does not establish that periodontal disease is present. S. mutans are one of several bacteria associated with the development of cavities. Candida species can be present in healthy mouths, but higher reported levels may warrant discussion with a dental or healthcare professional, particularly when symptoms or relevant risk factors are present.
After the laboratory processes your sample, you will receive an educational baseline showing which targeted microorganisms were detected and their reported levels.
Review which targeted microorganisms were detected and their reported levels. Share the results with your dental professional so they can be considered alongside your dental history and clinical findings.
Based on your overall oral health, not the saliva results alone, your dental professional may recommend changes to your daily oral-care routine, diet, preventive care, professional treatment, or follow-up schedule.
Repeat testing may allow you to compare reported microbial levels over time. Changes should be interpreted cautiously and discussed with your dental professional.
